Since its creation in 2001, ePrep has conducted several studies and coordinated several proposals in the domain of ICT (Information and communication technologies) for enhancing international ans social access to the "Grandes écoles".
These studies and proposals are presented below: click to directly access the sections you wish.
The studies and proposals CPGE Web portal, EN-Prépas and OFGE can be consulted in this chronological order: they all originate from the same ePrep willing to develop of a large Web portal for enhancing international and social access to the "grandes écoles" and they have for result the development of the SILLAGES initiative.
The partners involved in the OFGE proposal
The proposal "Ouverture francophone de l'accès aux grandes écoles" (OFGE) has been submitted on May 25, 2009, in response to the 17th Call launched by the Fonds francophone des inforoutes.
Coordinated by ePrep, this proposal gathered 9 partners (from France : ePrep, ESSEC, Omeric, ParisTech ; from Senegal : ESMT, from Côte d'Ivoire : INP-HB, from Lebanon: ESIB, from Tunisia : EPAM et IPEST) supported by the Conférence des grandes écoles, CNED, INRIA and EDHEC.
The OFGE project aimed at facilitating the entrance to the "Grandes écoles" for francophone students by developing pedagogical content well adapted. For that, the project proposed to develop in an operational way the francophone part of the projects explored by the ePrep Community of Practice.
The proposal OFGE is available here, in French :
Even if this proposal was not selected, these documents had been useful to facilitate the further developments of the ePrep CoP projects in the framework of the SILLAGES initiative.
The EN-Prépas stakeholders
In order to develop in an operational way the projects explored by the ePrep Community of Practice launched in May 2006, ePrep proposed to its partners to create a Consortium named "Espace numérique prépas" (EN-Prépas).
A pre-figuration EN-Prépas council, gathering 11 members (CGE, CNED, ePrep, ESSEC, INRIA, ParisTech and the CPGE teachers' unions) met on November 14, 2008.
The proposal EN-Prépas is available here, in French:
- L'historique et la vision du projet (pdf 876 kB)
- Proposition d'un programme d'activités et d'un budget pour 2009 à étudier (pdf 428 kB)
Even if the CPGE teachers' unions did not give a positive advice, these documents had been useful to facilitate the further developments of the ePrep CoP projecst in the framework of the SILLAGES initiative.
ICT pedagogical project of the "Ecole Centrale de Pékin" (2005-2006)
ePrep Group at Ecole Centrale de Pékin
The "Ecole Centrale de Pékin", the first French-speaking " Grande école " in China, opened in September 2006. In July 2005, ePrep encouraged the "Ecole Centrale de Pékin" to engage an ICT pedagogical pilot project. Two meetings, in which ePrep participated, have been organised at Beihang University (the University where the "Ecole Centrale de Pékin" is located), in Beijing. The inputs of ePrep and its community to the first developments of this project are described in a document available here (in French - pdf archive, 220 kB).
Since that time, the cooperation with Ecole Centrale de Pékin is fully part of the International cooperation study conducted by the ePrep Community of Practice.
The 2008 ePrep Thematic Seminar was organised in this framework.
The Future (2003)
A picture of the illustrated version "The day of a teacher in CPGE in 2008"
"Our civilisation can be compared to a car travelling faster and faster along an unknown road at night. Its headlights need to be more and more powerful if we are to avoid a catastrophe" Gaston Berger, forecaster.
In September 2003, ePrep encouraged the CPGE teachers' Unions to start thinking about the future, in particular to consider what, by 2008, the day of a CPGE teacher using ICT as fully as possible, would be like. The aim was to better identify the actions that could be developed in the coming years and to encourage and generalise the use of ICT in CPGE teaching.
Therefore, ePrep organised a seminar with representatives of CPGE teachers' Unions and realised a study entitled "the day of a teacher in CPGE in 2008". This study (in French) can be downloaded here (pdf 256 kB). An illustrated version can also be downloaded here (pdf 1050 kB).
The Session 6 of the 2004 ePrep International Workshop was dedicated to this issue.
The illustrated version of the study was proposed to the 2008 ePrep Workshop participants to invite them to have a revised opinion on what was seen for the future.
CPGE Web Portal (2003)
Parallel Session Rapporteurs at ePrep 2002
During the 2002 ePrep International Workshop, a large consensus appeared on the need to launch a project to create a Federating Digital Workspace for CPGEs and similar establishments (in French "Espace Numérique Fédérateur pour les CPGE", or ENF-CPGE) including an important international dimension.
So that this project can be launched on a sound basis, it was decided to carry out a feasibility study. This study was entitled by the CPGE teachers' Unions to Nathalie Van de Wiele, Director of ePrep.
The study was realised over five with the months, with the support of a Steering Committee constituted by the rapporteurs of the ePrep 2002 International Workshop sessions, and was handed out to the French Ministry for Education in January, 2003. This report (in French) can be downloaded here (pdf 471 kB).
Following the examination of this feasibility study, the French Ministry for Education decided, in June 2003, to insure the coordination of the project of a "Digital portal for CPGEs and similar establishments".
The CPGE teachers'Unions were associated to this second phase of the project, with the edition of a specification document (pdf 308 kB in French), but the project did not succeed.
ICT Survey (2002, 2004, 2006)
Presentation of the ICT Survey at ePrep 2006
The ICT Survey aimed at knowing the state and perspective of the ICT (Information and communication technologies) development in CPGEs.
Three ICT surveys were coordinated by ePrep, in cooperation CPGE teachers' Unions, on the occasion of the ePrep International Workshops, in 2002, 2004, and 2006. These surveys are available here, in French:
